Creating Calm in Chaos

By Em - July 18, 2019

One of my better skills is creating efficient organizational systems. And to be honest, this is because I'm naturally a bit of a tornado. I love systems and organization in a large part because of the order that they bring to my otherwise chaotic life.

I am a passionate person and can become very involved in whatever project or adventure I may be working on.  This is a kind way of saying that I am capable of absolute destruction. Which means this happens sometimes:

Now, I'm proud to say I've gotten a lot better over the years at keeping a clean room, but the more active my lifestyle becomes, the more prone my spaces are to chaos.

This is why it is so important to me to design an organizational system for my car that works for me. I want to be able to hit the road in 15 minutes, and to come home without my car looking like a tornado passed through it. And the key to this is a well planned design.

Good designs don't happen all at once. They germinate. It can be easy to become highly solution focused when brainstorming, and I think it's important to truly work to understand and define your problems and needs before working on a solution.

I've started paying more attention to the systems I have in place in my house that I can transfer to my microcamper to keep things organized. I have a lot of ideas sprouting, and soon I'm going to bring some organization to these ideas through a mindmap.
